Ex 11:10-12, 14; Ps 116:12-13, 15, 16bc, 17-18; Mt 12:1-8 The scriptures speak of the beauty of Mount Carmel in Galilee where the prophet Elijah defended the faith of Israel in the living God. There, at the beginning of the 13th c., under the title of "St. Mary of Mount Carmel," the Order of the Carmelites (O. Carm.) had its formal beginning.
